Taranto born and adoptive Leghornese, Antonietta Varallo approaches painting when she was just fifteen. She was a student at the free academy “Trossi Umberto” of Voltolino Fontani for about a year, then she passed under the guidance of the master Luciano Torsi with whom she obtained the artistic maturity during the eighteen years of teaching. In 1976 she won the “CHIMERA” city of Arezzo prize. She is, still today, a honorary professor of the “Macchiavello” Academy of Florence and of the “G. Marconi” of Bologna. The influence of the aspects of nature is the parameter that predominantly and essentially determines the pictorial anthology of Antonietta Varallo. Her flower gardens, her enchanted Tuscan landscapes, the multitudes of veiled colors that triumph in her paintings are the awareness that this artist, gifted with great talent and imagination, manages to surprise us and make us rediscover unique sensations that perhaps we had long forgotten. But time has not stopped here, it is only suspended in a surreal atmosphere that leads to the discovery of soft landscapes, pastel colors, romantic views of that Tuscany that we all love. Works by her can be found in private collections in the USA, Japan and Germany.
